Get Cash for Your Halloween Candy!
Bring your unopened Halloween Candy to 1260 3rd Ave SE in Cedar Rapids by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4th and earn $1.00 per pound of candy donated (limited to $5/person).
The first 100 people will receive a goodie bag and chances to win door prizes!
Candy will be used to fill care packages and sent to veterans, deployed troops, and first responders.
Where does the candy go?
Offices around the country like Cedar Rapids Smile Center collect the candy and ship it to Operation Gratitude in California.
Operation Gratitude annually sends 200,000+ care packages filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home.
Their mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the Military and First Responder communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation.
Each package contains donated product valued from $45-100, and costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 1,600,000 care packages. Check out their Facebook page HERE!
Here at Cedar Rapids Smile Center, we have been treating families for over 38 years. Our mission is to build a lifetime of oral health. We hope that you can help us with such a great cause and supporting our troops.
This is our sixth year collecting candy for the troops. Since 2014, we have collected over 1,300 pounds of candy. Help us make this year even better!
